The Research and Development laboratory at Bal Pharma Limited is involved in the development of processes for novel bulk actives (active pharmaceutical ingredients, APIs). This comprises of optimization of methods of synthesis of products that are of interest and demand in national and international markets as also conducting investigations on the development of new chemical substances for therapeutic applications. All this work is carried out by highly qualified and trained personnel who constantly are involved in the study of important drugs in different medicinal segments.
The Research & Development laboratory of Bal Pharma Limited has been recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.
The company possesses very good facilities for carrying out scale up operations of chemical processes developed in the laboratories to pilot plant scales and subsequently to bulk manufacturing levels.
The analytical services laboratory is manned by experienced and qualified chemists who provide support to the different departments involved in chemical process operations at the plant. The support activities include close monitoring of the nature and quality of products under production, development of analytical procedures for new chemical entities with thorough validation exercise backup, aiding the R & D personnel in the physical methods of analysis for structure elucidation and characterization of new chemical substances.
